Dorothy Height passed away | Civil rights activist 2010












Dorothy Irene Height, Civil Rights activist died at the age of 98 years. Dorothy Irene Height died early Tuesday morning of natural causes at Howard University Hospital in Washington, the hospital confirmed. She had been receiving medical attention for weeks.

Howard University Hospital’s spokesman Ron Harris, told that Dorothy Height died at 3:41 in the morning. The death cause had not been given.

Dorothy Height worked with Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. US President Barack Obama had even named Dorothy Height as a hero, as she was the only woman who served at peak level of civil rights movement.

Friend Alexis M. Herman, who was ex U.S. Labor Secretary told that Dorothy Height’s death news, is “deeply remorseful”.

Last month, an outbreak of rumors had appeared on internet that Dorothy Height had died.
